An "ITIN" is a Taxpayer Identification Number for Individuals that have/want to file a U.S. tax return but do not qualify for a Social Security.
It's important to understand that an "ITIN" is only for tax purposes. It's made for people to file a tax return and for dependents to be claimed on a tax return. It is NOT valid for employment.
